The Most Powerful, Yet Underrated Fundamentals for Success
Simplify your approach to “success” by staying consistent.

People make this “success” stuff too complicated.
All the optimization hacks, productivity gems, etc are all good and well but the most powerful quality you can cultivate for success is “staying power.”
Staying power is your ability to focus on the one or two substantial factors that contribute to your goals day in and day out, no matter how boring and mundane it becomes.
Even more fundamental than that? It’s your ability to work at your craft everyday.
I’ve noticed that many people forego the simplicity of staying power for a series of complex shiny “shortcuts.”
And I get it. Shortcuts are super appealing. We are creatures of instant gratification.
But during our evolution we’ve learned that we can bargain with the future. That is, if we delay instant gratification now, we can gain a bigger, sustainable benefit in the future.
Delayed gratification is the best way to maximize the imagination of our neocortex.
Staying power is fundamental to our evolution despite the lizard brains propensity to want it all now.
But by simply staying persistent, success(whatever you consider success to be) is on the other side of “the work.”
Staying consistent is practical because eventually you get good at whatever you’re working at.
And when you get good at whatever you’re working at, you can help others get good at it too.
This is especially true when it comes to the IT field.
